GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The purpose of this classification is to serve on the Mobile Crisis Response team, as a behavioral health member working alongside a Lexington Police Officer, responding to individuals experiencing a mental health emergency/crisis and providing resources and support to those in need.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in social work or another field related to the job
Two (2) years of related experience
Additional years of related education may substitute for years of experience

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Responds to emergency calls and provides immediate support and crisis intervention to individuals experiencing mental health crises
Conducts comprehensive assessments of individuals in crisis, assessing mental health needs, risk factors, and safety concerns
Determines the need for further intervention and coordinates with medical and behavioral health services as necessary
Provides ongoing support during and after crises to ensure the individual's safety and wellbeing
Develops and maintains community partnerships for coordination of care for individuals in crisis
Maintains accurate and up-to-date records of all interactions, assessments, interventions, and referrals made
Conducts regular program evaluations to evaluate effectiveness and impact of program
Performs related work as assigned
SPECIAL LICENSE/CERTIFICATION
Valid Driver¿s License
Mental Health First Aid for Public Safety, through the National Council for Mental Wellbeing, must be completed within the first three (3) months of employment
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) training, through the Lexington Police Department, must be completed for compliance with the Kentucky Community Crisis Co-Response (CCCR) grant.
All positions require drug testing and background check before employment and may require a post-job offer physical as stated in Ordinances 21-14(b), 22-13 and 23-16.
