This position requires an associate or independent level behavioral health license issued by the Arizona BBHEs. This position will have two purposes: mobile crisis specialist and peer mentor. This position will:
Use Crisis Theory to provide crisis counseling to clients in order to facilitate immediate stabilization of emotions and behavior.
Focus of care will be with the seriously mentally ill, children/ adolescents and family interventions. Will be able to assess and stabilize different ages and stages of development/lifespan (children, adolescents, adults, and senior adults) and different cultural backgrounds and experiences.
Focus of care will be with the seriously mentally ill, and includes assessment and disposition the following presenting issues:
Suicidal / Homicidal thoughts and behavior
Alcohol and Drug substance use and abuse issues including need for medical detoxification
Psychotic and/or delusional thinking
Victims of domestic violence or other trauma
Grief and group debriefing
Develop short-term crisis management / safety plans with clients/or families when appropriate including having the knowledge/understanding of the involuntary petition process.
Educate self and staff in appropriate community referrals and supportive services. Utilize coordination linkages with needed services.
Make appropriate referrals to other agencies and/ or long-term counseling when appropriate
Maintain client records and complete required documentation in an accurate and timely manner. Show ability to express self orally and in writing and is responsible for clinical review for all signed charts.
Provide supervision related to crisis theory monthly for BHT's (partner or in group) and assist teams in reading dispatch information and providing guidance on a plan of action.
Peer Experiences: Utilize personal experiences during crisis intervention and debrief with clinical manager.
Mobile Crisis work experience is preferred
Must be 21 years of age or older.
Required - an associate or independent license
Preference will be given to applicants with previous crisis counseling experience.
Must be able to work well and tactfully with individuals and groups.
Must have or obtain a valid Arizona Driver License, have a minimum of 3 years driving experience. Must meet requirements of Terros driving policy.
Must have a valid Arizona Fingerprint Clearance card (Level 1) or apply for an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance card within 7 working days of employment.
Must have the ability to perform first aid, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation as necessary and appropriate.
