Job Description

The Manager of Mobile Assets will collaborate and support the Southwest General Managers and team in the development of standardized preventive maintenance programs for each type of mobile equipment.

What you're responsible for:

  • Performing fair market value appraisal of assets in the case of site acquisition or in the case of transfer, disposal or resale of assets.

  • Communicating with the various stakeholders (finance, maintenance etc.) in order to meet the requirements of the internal transfer and disposal process and ensure the maintenance and accuracy of the data.

  • Participating in system audits related to inventory of assets.

  • Collaborating in the validation and maintenance of all site assets.

  • Collaborating with the Procurement Manager to negotiate favorable terms for new equipment purchases, maintenance service contracts and all other contracts.

  • In cooperation with maintenance, procurement, logistics and operations connecting to accomplish team goals

  • Participating in various related tasks within the department: KPI updates and other ad hoc projects.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience and background in mobile asset maintenance and repair.

  • University degree in relevant field.  (procurement, hydraulics, mechanical)

  • Have a thorough knowledge of the heavy equipment, and transportation market

  • Ability to analyze data and develop effective equipment strategies

  • The ability to travel both within Canada and the United States of America.

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office and other Suite programs along with the ability to use purchasing and inventory management software.
