Welligent, a fast-growing Electronic Health Record (EHR) software vendor based in Norfolk, is seeking an experienced mobile application developer to develop and support custom-developed Welligent apps. A leading national software vendor, Welligent provides a comprehensive, enterprise cloud-based software solution which comprises practice management, clinical, billing and reporting functions. Ancillary to its cloud-based solutions, Welligent also offers mobile apps which offer a sub-set of functionality or complementary functionality to our cloud-based solutions. Welligent's customers include community-based behavioral/health and human services providers in more than 30 states. Job Duties:

  • Serve as the primary app developer and responsible for app design and UI, all development, testing, debugging and on-going enhancements
  • Lead Welligent's mobile development initiatives as the primary app developer and grow Welligent's mobile practice area
  • Responsible for the ongoing evolution of our existing mobile apps, to enhance functionality and provide a better experience for end users
  • Working within our existing application frameworks, provide creative input, expertise and technical methods
  • Make a significant impact by working directly with the company and product owners, developers and other team members to improve upon an existing strong enterprise application with an extensive national user base
  • Work with the business users to understand and document functionality requirements
  • Collaborate with other technical team members including Welligent's web-services team to understand/ensure data requirements are met
  • As needed, perform business and data requirements gathering and data analysis tasks
  • Identify and document relevant data design, process and specifications
  • Willingness to understand business context and problems and communicate them clearly in written and oral format


  • Bachelors degree required
  • Advanced knowledge/experience with Angular with Javascript
  • Advanced knowledge/experience with Cordova and plugins
  • Knowledge of jQuery, Ionic, FullCalendar framework
  • Must be familiar with PouchDB integration for SQLite
  • Experience with SQLite offline storage
  • Basic knowledge of TypeScript
  • Basic knowledge of C++ for comping Windows package
  • Must be familiar with NodeJs package manager
  • PHP (must be familiar with curl basic authentications)
  • Data encryption - AES, Hash
  • NodeJs, must be familiar with package manager using the command line
  • Sass (a plus but not needed since UI already built)
  • User interface design and front end development experience
  • Knowledge of HTML, DHTML, CSS and JavaScript
  • Experience with Android Studio, Xcode/Swift, Visual Studio
  • Experience with Apple, Google, and Microsoft store submission process and knowledge of creating and publishing provisioning profiles and certificates for all platforms.
  • Must be familiar with HTTP services
  • Some knowledge of Red Hat Linux server, basic knowledge of command line connection using SSH
  • Knowledge of relational database design
  • Ability to work independently and solve complex software problems
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Knowledge of Healthcare IT, EHR/EMR or clinical systems preferred
  • Experience working in a small team to build and enhance complex enterprise software applications
  • Green card or US Citizenship required

Working familiarity with any of the following technologies: NoSQL databases (MongoDB or CouchDB), Apache Lucene or Solr, ElasticSearch/Kibana/LogStash, Docker.
