SUMMARY
Serve as an on-site Sales Account Manager in a fast-paced work environment and build lifetime relationships with our customers. As a Sales Account Manager, you will develop and execute strategic outreach plans to boost client engagement and satisfaction through targeted initiatives in your region. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams to identify and capitalize on upselling and cross-selling opportunities while serving as the primary contact for major accounts. Your role involves managing customer relationships, handling escalated issues, and leveraging CRM tools to maintain detailed account information and drive business growth. Additionally, you'll assist Sales Associates during high-traffic periods, oversee order fulfillment, address customer complaints, and contribute to the onboarding and development of sales associates. Adhere to a sales quota for year-over-year growth of customer accounts by increasing customer touchpoints and following the MNI Direct Way.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Own sales quotas by enhancing customer engagement and satisfaction through targeted customer outreach strategies.
- Serve as the main interface for large accounts, understanding and meeting customer needs effectively while managing escalated issues promptly to maintain high customer satisfaction.
- Work Until the Job is Done Right by nurturing long-term relationships with customers by conducting visits and reviews to assess satisfaction, identify challenges, and address concerns proactively.
- Be a Team Player by collaborating with the Branch Team, Quoting Team, and Business Development to drive sales through the branch and company by developing customer quotes and orders, following up on all communication, and assisting sales associates with walk-in customers as needed.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to identify upselling and cross-selling opportunities, ensuring delivery of value-added services.
- Assist Business Development with developing and refining targeted messaging, content, and campaigns that resonate with potential customers.
- Assist with training sales concepts, systems, and processes as needed.
- Utilize CRM tools to maintain accurate and up-to-date account information, develop a deep understanding of customer businesses, industry trends, and challenges, and own the use of CRM tools.
- Manage existing MNI Direct accounts, aggressively seeking new business opportunities within these accounts to expand margin dollars in existing lines of business.
- Ensure that customers are aware of and fully utilize all of MNI Direct's capabilities, including vendor support and the Ewing Partner's Program, to maximize the value they receive.
- Leverage solution-focused sales tools to maximize growth, prioritize key accounts using MNI Direct sales analysis tools, and report progress against opportunities.
- Facilitate the placement of customer orders, monitor the fulfillment process, resolve customer complaints by investigating problems and developing solutions, and assist in onboarding and developing sales associates as needed.
- Assist with branch customer appreciation events and green industry events (Tradeshows, Fall Field Days, Membership Drives)
- Perform other duties as required
Required Skills, Knowledge & Training
EDUCATION:
- High School diploma required; College Degree preferred
- 3-5 years of Green Industry experience or knowledge of horticulture, landscape, and/or nursery required
- 3-5 years of experience managing and growing customer account
- B2B sales experience preferred
- Plant Professional Certification Preferred
SKILLS AND TRAINING:
- Highly Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Expert selling and customer service skills
- Ownership of Sales Processes
- Comfortability with outbound calls and lead generation
- Ability to operate the customer ordering and inventory system.
- Ability to communicate effectively with all internal and external customers. business associates.
- Possess and maintain a valid, clean state Driver's License.
Physical Requirements
