Manager of Mentorship and Student Experience
The Manager of Mentorship and Student Experience oversee the operation and expansion of mentoring/networking platform for students, alumni, and employers. Consult and collaborate with campus partners to create programs and groups for affinity groups and academic areas including managing a mentoring program. Develop policies and procedures and award professional development funding to students in need. Manage job shadowing program to allow students to learn about potential industries and occupations.
Day to Day for this position:
Implement and coordinate a University-wide mentorship program for career exploration
Serve as a liaison between students and mentors: onboard users, approve positions for participation, and provide guidance and support to students and employers.
Identify employers to host students
Manage marketing and logistics with employers and assist employers in designing shadowing programs, externships, and internships etc.

Bachelor's degree and 4 years related experience, or equivalent.
Required to travel and work occasional evenings.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in student services or related field and 2 year related experience.
Experience with college student advising, project management, relationship management, and experiential learning.

MENTORSHIP PROGRAM ADMINISTRATION:
Programing: Implement, and coordinate a value-added University-wide Mentorship program to focus on student connections with alumni, employers, and practitioners for career exploration and enhancement.
Partnership: Promote services, consult, and collaborate with campus partners to increase and engage users. Consulting with campus partners about how to best engage with our services and meet their diverse needs while collaborating with existing partners.
On-boarding and Training: Create and provide guidelines on participation in the program, including risk management policies to ensure the protection of students, faculty, staff, and alumni. Develop resources to enhance communication between students and mentors. Onboard program and group administrators.
Performance Management and Reflection: Develop and implement a performance appraisal framework for students and mentors. Monitor interactions and intervene as necessary to concerns or issues. Facilitate evaluations of interactions on a semester basis.

JOB EXPLORATION AND SHADOWING ADMINISTRATION:
Identify employers to host students from diverse industries.
Manage all logistics, including marketing to students and employers, matching, communication, and safety measurements.
Establish relationships with recruiters and employers; assist them with designing and implementing strategies for developing shadowing programs, externships, internships and co-ops, etc.
Evaluate and approve positions for participation in the programs based on the quality of the learning experience available to students.
Consult with potential employers/recruiters on the development of programs and positions, as well as strategies for outreach and engagement.
Provide guidance and support resources, as appropriate, to employers and recruiters

Manage internship, co-operative education, and other high-impact experiential learning programming, such as micro-internships and micro-credentialing for the University of South Carolina.

Manage the William L. Richter Internship Scholarship Program to support student internships at non-profit organizations.
Explore potential professional development opportunities for students, building a strategy and plan to expand student access and support of career experiences/engagements.

ASSESSMENT & EVALUATION:
Collect and analyze data to assess the effectiveness and impact of the student experiences.
Prepare reports for University leadership on outcomes.
Stay abreast of current research related to student employment and experiential learning; benchmark and adapt leading practices from other universities and institutions.
