Remote position - Part-time and Full-time

The Multi-Market Analyst I, working closely with Sales Consultants, Brokers and Carriers, under supervision, is responsible for preparing quotes based on census and group information from agents and/or their clients. This information is obtained via the RFQ and from input from stakeholders including, but not limited to, the Warner Pacific Sales Executive and the requesting broker. This job requires not only a working knowledge of the RFQ document, Warner Pacific Intranet/carrier rating systems and carrier RFQ workflows, but also the guidelines for each carrier with regard to RFQ points of contact, products, product availability and offering criteria. The Market Analyst I, under supervision, makes decisions within guidelines and procedures relative to new business, as well as modifications to existing business.

Overview of Responsibilities

  • Document quoting activity according to department protocols and using internal/external systems.

  • Analyze RFQ information and prepare RFP for carriers using the RFQ tool/document and/or the Warner Pacific quoting system with a high degree of accuracy.

  • Interface/follow up with carrier RFQ & broker contacts frequently to ensure timely delivery of quotes from requested carriers.

  • Initiate no greater than 5 business day follow up call to Broker regarding status and, if needed additional discussion of requirements, if not received initially

  • Initiate second 3 business day follow up call to Broker regarding status and, if needed, additional discussion of requirements, if not received in Underwriting. This level of follow up will continue every 3 business days until requirements are received (unless otherwise requested by Broker and indicated in submission notes)

  • Work closely with all stakeholders named above to produce requested quotes and upon completion/receipt from carrier, forward quotes immediately to the Sales Executive and broker.

  • Respond to e-mails and phone messages within 4 hours at a maximum

  • Develop an understanding of market factors, carriers, plans, benefits and guidelines in the Texas and/or Oklahoma group insurance landscape.

  • Provide carrier/plan consultative services to sales executives and brokers to assist with new group and renewal purchasing decisions.

  • Demonstrate consistent, outstanding judgment, honesty and integrity in all aspects of job performance.

  • Make note of potential workflow or process enhancements and communicate to supervisor for consideration.

Additional Skills and Requirements

  • Available to work additional hours beyond regular work schedules as necessary during our peak season to meet commitments to our customers and business needs (including weekends and holidays)?

  • Level Funded and Large Group quoting experience in health insurance plans required

  • Minimum of a high school diploma, GED or equivalent.

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills.

  • Exceptional written and oral communications skills.

  • Attention to detail a must.

  • Demonstrated competency in running quotes on Warner Pacific and alternate (carrier and/or vendor) quoting systems, as determined by carrier protocol or business need.

  • Demonstrated ability to remain calm in pressure situations.

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively negotiate.

  • Demonstrated ability to think and act independently and to consider all available avenues to obtain desired results for customers.

  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task effectively.

  • Ability to prioritize work effectively.

  • Ability to perform data entry, answer phone and monitor email and fax simultaneously.

  • Ability to self-start and think/act independently and in concert with co-workers, management and customers.

  • Ability to maintain and foster positive, open communication channels with internal and external customers.

  • Valid applicable state life/health insurance license required to move to Multi-Market Analyst II.

  • Ability to work a minimum of 8 hours per day, M-F, 40 hours per week generally with shift start times between 8:00-8:30 a.m., as determined by senior management.

  • Ability to work additional hours beyond regular work schedules as necessary during our peak season to meet commitments to our customers and business needs (including holidays, weekends, etc.)

  • Computer literacy with proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite and emphasis on beginning-intermediate Excel.

  • Ability to type a minimum of 30 WPM.

  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time, lift a minimum of 5 pounds, file, stand, bend, reach, and pull.

Compensation:

Hourly Range*: $22.39 - $29.86 p/hour

  • Actual compensation may vary from posting based on work experience, education and/or skill level.

The Company may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.
