SUMMARY:

Perform set up and operate manual / automated operations to manufacture multi-layered steel gaskets.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform manual eyelet operations.

  • Setup and perform manual assembly operations.

  • Set up and operate mechanical and hydraulic presses.

  • Setup and operate Laser Welder.

  • Set up and operate shrink wrap machine.

  • Operate race track and/or semi-automatic assembly system.

  • Perform inspect and package operations.

  • Complete daily required production paperwork: tally sheet, quality sheet, move ticket, and production sheet.

  • Identify process, material, and equipment problems.

  • Move parts, dies and tools by hand or using a hand truck/powered truck.

  • Understand quality criteria for parts produced.

  • First article and/or final audit certification.

  • Performs Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) as assigned.

  • Follows the Quality Management System requirements as outlined in the process notes on the press card, the applicable QMS procedures and work instructions; and suggests ways for continual improvement.

  • Promptly reports quality problems and shuts down the equipment if unable to resolve.

  • Maintains a clean and orderly work area, conducts 5S.

  • Follows EHS rules and regulations, participates in safety meetings and CBT, and suggests ways for continual improvement.

  • Promptly reports personal injuries and unsafe conditions and helps to resolve them.

  • Understand FMPS and lean manufacturing concepts and the importance of the line status boards.

  • Willing and able to cross train in other departments within the Value Stream

  • Perform related duties and assignments that are consistent with knowledge and training.

Required Skills

COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:

  • Setup and operate the various equipment to include: mechanical/hydraulic presses, laser welder, shrink wrap, race track and semi-automatic assembly system.

  • Understand operation and function of all the machines in the LVMLS cell.

  • Understand quality criteria for parts produced.

  • Complete daily required production paperwork: tally sheet, quality sheet, move ticket, and production sheet.

  • Identify process, material, and equipment problems.

  • Move parts by hand or hand operated truck/power truck.

  • Perform inspect and package operations

  • Ability to read and understand press cards, procedures, work instructions, safety rules and warning signs.

  • Ability to read and write well enough to perform simple arithmetic calculations.

  • Interpersonal skills necessary to exchange information with a variety of employees.

  • First article and/or final audit certification.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to forty pounds on a daily basis.

  • Ability to walk and stand for extended periods.

  • Ability to reach and grab with arms and hands.

  • Possess the manual dexterity to operate machines with precision.

  • Normal or corrected vision necessary to read directions and closely examine parts; and to distinguish colors.

  • Normal hearing in order to detect equipment and motor malfunctions.

  • Ability to pull, lift, and transport gaskets and tooling within the facility.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Works in areas that can be uncomfortable due to noise, odors, and temperature extremes.

  • Works regularly with machines where carelessness could result in serious injury and cuts, bruises, or muscle pulls. Serious injuries can be avoided if established safety precautions are followed.

SHIFT: 3rd Shift: Mon - Fri, 10:00 PM - 6:30 AM SUMMARY: This position is responsible for Cycle Counting, Material Handling and Inventory Requests leading to the syncing of inventory between the MOVE, NABS, and Oracle Systems and the maintaining of Distribution Inventory accuracy. This position works with Packaging in resolving production and product receipt issues, integrating of new numbers and movement of existing sets in the Warehouse Assigning resources within the Material Handling and Inventory Control Areas of the Team. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Cycle Count and reconcile discrepancies in Move, NABS and Oracle Systems. * Identify & resolve process, material and equipment problems. * Investigate and if necessary communicate with Packaging and Planners on all potential Back Order sets. * Investigate, follow up and report on Lost Loads, MRP & WMS Inventory Discrepancies. * Integration of New Numbers. * Review and execution of decisions revolving slotting of parts in the Warehouse. * Processing of inventory requests outside of WMS orders. (Samples, Production Area Requests, etc.). * Generating of reports that document Inventory Control Measure Activity. * Move sets within warehouse by hand, hand truck or power truck. * Follows the Quality Management System requirements as outlined in the process notes on the press card, the applicable QMS procedures and work instructions; and suggests ways for continual improvement. * Promptly reports quality problems and shuts down the equipment if unable to resolve. * Maintains a clean and orderly work area. * Follows EHS rules and regulations, participates in safety meetings and CBT, and suggests ways for continual improvement. * Promptly reports personal injuries and unsafe conditions and helps to resolve them. * Performs related duties as assigned.
