MLDS Yard Operator
This position is responsible for loading MLDS trailers as well as conducting proper DOT inspections, including the completion of proper paperwork for the entire fleet.
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Experience: At least 1 year of CDL truck driving experience required.
Licenses: Valid Class A CDL required.
Strong DOT knowledge required. Additional safety knowledge a plus.
Basic Microsoft Office skills required.
Abilities: Ability to work outdoors and understand and comply to DOT guidelines and regulations required.
Behaviors: Strong communication is required. Being able to work independently a plus.
Safely transport trailers between MLDS yard and Ste Gen plant for loading.
Load required MLDS trailers for fleet drivers.
Prepare loads for the road, ensuring legal weights, security of loads, as well as cleanliness and mechanical condition of trailer.
Perform DOT inspections of tractors and trailers for safe operation.
Maintain and process proper paperwork with each loaded trailer.
Drop and hook equipment daily as needed.
In an emergency, perform deliveries as needed, provided such deliveries would not displace or replace a regular driver's normal work schedule. An emergency shall be an unforeseen set of circumstances which demand immediate action.
Perform housekeeping and cleanup work area to maintain cleanliness of assigned and designated area. Perform and document housekeeping audits. Keep your areas clean and free of clutter.
Ability to train on and utilize a computer and related software as needed such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Acquire product samples for drivers as needed.
Perform and document equipment operational inspections, make minor adjustments and repairs, and write Work Requests and Emergency Work Orders as necessary.
Work and coordinate with supervisors, crew leads, and other employees to strive for continuous improvements, safety and operational efficiency.
Wash trailers and equipment when necessary or as assigned, as would be part of the normal trailer pre-loading requirement/duties.
Be a positive member of the MLDS team. Identify problems and implement solutions as expected for your training and capabilities.
Perform any other duties assigned by the MLDS Dispatcher, Fleet Manager, or Terminal Manager.
