SUMMARY: Operates mixing equipment to blend ingredients into compounds for processing by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.Loads ingredients into mixer by conveyor or hoist per Job Sheet/Standard Manufacturing Procedure (SMP). 2. Operates machine until mixture reaches desired consistency.
3.Monitors mixing process to ensure ingredients are blended successfully.
4.Turns lever to unload mixture into container.
5.Operates forklift or other lifting device to transport mixtures to designated areas.
6.Operates auxiliary equipment to break up, grind, dry mix, or otherwise prepare mixture for final processing.
7.Identifies and separates all hazardous and non-hazardous waste with labels.
8.Completes Mixing Room Mixing Log to record all hazardous and non-hazardous waste and inputs information into Plexus.
9.Maintains inventory of associated chemicals in Plexus.
10. Tests solidity and viscosity of rubber and/or adhesive with basic lab equipment.
11. Completes Testing Result Log with measurement information for traceability.
12. Cleans spills per clean-up procedures.
13. Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Skills and Experience
High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED). Knowledge of basic computer
and keyboard use. Ability to operate various types of equipment such as
grinder, nauta mixer, seybold cutter, mill paddle, blade mixer, and weighing
scales required. Forklift license required.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and
memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively
present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers,
clients, and other employees of the organization.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole
numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and
percent and draw and interpret bar graphs.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in
situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a
variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Ability to work any continuous or fixed shift schedule including any day of the
calendar week as required for operation of the position and mandatory overtime
as implemented by management.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand;
walk; talk or hear; and taste or smell. The employee is frequently required to
use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The
employee is occasionally required to sit; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific
vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision,
color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
