Organizational Location:This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO), New Orleans Field Office. Duty Location; New Orleans, LA
As a Mission Support Assistant, you will provide substantive clerical support in one or more of the administrative support areas (e.g., finance and budget, logistics and procurement, human resources, records and files management, etc.). Specifically you will:
Learn more about this agency
Perform office automation work by using computer software, e.g., spreadsheets, databases, and graphics, to produce, store and retrieve a variety of documents;
Monitor, coordinate and maintain a variety of office files and records;
Extract, compile and manipulate data to determine if trends or patterns exist;
Compile a variety of reports and maintain tracking systems of transactions ; and
Coordinating requests for services from users, procuring routine equipment and services and completing necessary forms.
Occasional travel - You may be expected to travel for this position.

Probationary Period: This is a full-time permanent position (Career/Career-Conditional appointment). Upon appointment to this position, you may be required to serve a one-year probationary period.
A pre-emplyment drug test may be required.
One (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-4 grade level in the Federal service, performing duties such as:
Gathering data for routine reports;
Maintaining office files, transaction logs and records,
Ordering routine equipment and services,
Typing office documents, preparing graphs and charts; and
Reviewing forms and other documents for completeness. OR
A bachelor's degree or Successful completion of a full four-year course of study above the high school level in any field from an accredited college or university; OR
A combination of successfully completed creditable education and specialized experience, the total of which equals at least one year. Only education in excess of the first 60 semester hours or 90 quarter hours (i.e., beyond the second year) is creditable toward meeting the specialized experience requirement. One full academic year of study (30 semester hours or 45 quarter hours) beyond the second year is equivalent to 6 months of specialized experience.
