Our mission-driven team is seeking a bold and dynamic Mission Information Systems Engineer who is fueled by problem-solving, continuously curious, and driven to understand our world, science/technology, and life itself, for the benefit of all on Earth and beyond.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design and implement information technology solutions across space and ground systems.

• Contribute to the architecture of in-space network systems.

• Integrate mission, corporate, and DevSecOps information technology systems.

• Support high-criticality software deployments in both production and test environments.

• Coordinate network interoperability, joint tests, and configuration audits with external stakeholders.

• Trade study COTS hardware and software IT systems for a space environment.

• Implement IP-based connectivity solutions for both mission support and payload systems.

• Assist in construction of cloud-based simulation, test, and production software systems.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience

• 5+ years experience in IT Solutions Architecture, Systems Operations, or DevSecOps roles.

• 3+ years experience with administering Redhat Enterprise Linux, Ubuntu, or similar Linux operating systems in a production environment.

• 3+ years experience with public or private cloud systems.

• Experience with deploying Virtual Private Network solutions to edge environments.

• Familiar with Information Security best practices in regulated industries such as aerospace or defense.

• Familiar with Infrastructure-as-Code and network automation systems.

• Experience with AWS GovCloud preferred.

• Experience with agile development methodologies preferred.

Essential Functions

Work Environment: Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on the task.

Requirements

• Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation.

• Management has the prerogative to select at any level for which the position is advertised.

• Proof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency is a requirement for this position.

Physical Requirements

• Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of the time). May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of the time).
