Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Mission Assurance Manager 3 - NDI to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position is fulltime on-site located in Palmdale, CA.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Assures compliance in program quality, NDT, risk management, safety, process improvement, configuration and data management in accordance with contractual requirements.

  • Monitors operating unit quality metrics, corrective action boards, and program audit metrics and processes.

  • Demonstrates comprehensive metrics, customer and employee feedback to assess program quality performance and risks.

  • Supervises the proper implementation and execution of Continuous Improvement programs.

  • Sets the strategy to meet customer's expectations, regularly communicates program status.

  • Frequent collaborate with executives and customer representatives, including on-site DCMA representatives, concerning projects, operational decisions, scheduling requirements, and contractual clarifications.

  • Promotes the professional development of the quality engineering workforce and fosters a collaborative culture that sustains the momentum around employee engagement and inclusion, affordability, innovation, value growth and continuous improvement.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's and 9 years of experience in manufacturing, design, or quality or a Masters degree with 7 years of experience

  • 5+ years of experience in a leadership roles

  • 5+ years NDI experience demonstrating technical and in-depth knowledge of Nondestructive Testing applications/methods and Quality Assurance (QA) functions

  • Currently or previously certified to Level 2 or 3 per NAS410 in Ultrasonics (certification will be verified)

  • Demonstrated technical skills related to Ultrasonic inspection of composite materials

  • Familiarity with ISO 9001/AS9100

  • Active DoD Security Clearance that has been investigated within the last 5 years

  • Ability to be granted Special Program Access

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven ability to lead a large and diverse group, establish clear expectations and inspire commitment, forming teams, value diversity and put people first

  • Ability to further continuous yet controlled improvements in organizations and processes and strengthening of workforce skills through application of Lean / Six Sigma principles and tools

  • Ability to formulate and execute complex project plans and initiatives

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, writing, presentation and critical thinking skills. Demonstrated discernment. Clearly demonstrated commitment to open communication and customer satisfaction

  • Experience working with Government agencies

  • Proven leadership experience with mid to high rate production programs

  • Strong working knowledge of composites manufacturing and inspection processes

  • Experience with trend data development and analysis and key characteristics

  • Material review board experience

  • Contract compliance and auditing experience

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Tool suite (i.e.: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)

  • ASQ / CQE Certification

  • Ability to meet all requirements per NAS410 to obtain Level 3 Certification in Ultrasonics

  • Understanding and use of root cause analysis

  • Familiarity with AS9100, NADCAP, and other Quality / NDT auditing / accreditation systems strongly preferred

  • Experience with Automated Ultrasonic Systems strongly desired.

  • Current Special Program Access

Salary Range: $164,300.00 - $246,500.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
