The Division of Veterans Services (IDVS) has an opening for a compassionate and motivated individual to join our team as a Registered Nurse Sr. Minimum Data Set (MDS) Coordinator at the State Veterans Home in Boise.

The person in this position must be certified through the American Association of Nurse Assessment Coordination (AANAC) as a Resident Assessment Coordinator (RAC-CT) within 6 months of hire.

Incumbents provide skilled nursing and charge RN responsibilities in a long term care facility.
Nursing areas of specialty includesub acute geriatrics,chronic illness, wound care, dementia, chemical dependency, staff development and facility administrative charge.
Establish calendar to ensure timely completion of the Resident Assessment Instrument (RAI) process, including Minimum Data Sets (MDS), Care Area Assessments (CAA), and care plans, and share that calendar with the interdisciplinary team.
Complete and sign off on MDSs in accordance with established guidelines and federal regulations.
Assist in the development of systems to identify and improve quality of care.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Performs professional nursing care that may include:
Care plan development
Direct nursing services
Charge nurse responsibilities
Licensed as a Professional or Registered Nurse in Idaho as defined by Idaho Code 54-1408 or state licensure as a Registered Nurse pursuant to the Nurse Licensure Compact, Idaho Code 54-1418, in one of the following compact states: Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Delaware, Iowa, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Mexico, North Carolina, North Dakota, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, or Wisconsin.
Experience performing nursing assessments and developing and implementing nursing care plans.
Some experience as a Minimum Data Set (MDS) Coordinator.
Knowledge of the Resident Assessment Instrument (RAI) and Minimum Data Set (MDS) process.
