Advise and coordinate a rotating crew of hourly operators and salary supervisory staff to accomplish safe and efficient mine production in compliance with the mine plan
Responsible for the safety of everyone working in the mine
Hold daily tool-box and monthly safety meetings
Perform or delegate daily mine Workplace Exams
Develop new safety strategies and implement site/department wide safety initiatives
Promote the interdependency safety culture goals among the crew
Respond to and analyze any safety, damage, or near-miss/good catch incident and report findings
Ensure compliance to key safety systems including Life Saving Rules, Critical Behaviors, Workplace Exams, Standard Operating Procedures, Work Instructions, Pre/Post Operation Inspections, Field-Level Risk Assessments, Quality Safety Interactions, STOP Conversations, Good Catches, & Housekeeping
Responsible for coordinating the shift activities executed by the Mine Operations Shift Supervisors
Optimize safe and efficient execution of the Fleet Management System as operated by the Mine Operations Shift Supervisors
Establish shift production strategies through collaboration with Mine Planning, Ore Control, Survey, Mine Mobile Maintenance, and Mine Coordinators
Manage or delegate crew administrative tasks including but not limited to training, payroll, vacation, overtime, attendance, discipline & counseling, and recognition
Give specific guidance on production efforts in the mine. Ensure loading and dump sets are safe, efficient, and compliant. Ensure projects are completed safely, on time, to design.
Audit MPT1 and MPT2 training and progression plans
Cross train Mine Operations Shift Supervisors
Develop fill-in Mine Operations Shift Supervisors
Responsible for reporting
Pass off critical information to outgoing/oncoming crew's Mine Operations Shift Coordinator
Discuss WPE results, hazards, and changes to the working environment
Discuss plan compliance, tactical efforts, project status, equipment status & location
Inform Sr. Mine Coordinators and Mine Planner of any mid-range (>12hr) concerns, risks, or opportunities
Pass along critical information to inform mine planning, maintenance, ore control, or management
Attend the daily tactical mine planning meeting
Report to the Mine Operations Superintendent
Safety, production, and compliance statistics
Administrative status, ie. training plans, workforce risks & opportunities, discipline, etc…
Responsible for critical safety tasks in the mine
Prepare for and execute the Blast Clearing Procedure & Post Blast Inspection
Identify and facilitate JHAs for high risk or unconventional tasks
Other duties as required, not limited to:
Environmental Stewardship
Procurement of supplies, eg. drilling consumables, safety PPE, etc.
Assist with in-shift operator equipment swaps
Participate in Blast Clearance activities
Other duties as required
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Knowledge
Highly developed communication and writing skills
Mine operations experience; 10 years minimum
Leadership Experience; 5 years minimum
Equipment operating experience is highly regarded
Key Competencies / Skills
Ability to manage, influence, and work withing a multi-disciplinary team
Valid Arizona Driver's License
Ability to speak, comprehend, read, and write English
COMPUTER SOFTWARE SKILLS/ SPECIFIC SOFTWARE PROFICIENCIES:
Knowledge of Computerized Management Systems and Mine Dispatch highly regarded
CAT VIMS, SAP and MineStar knowledge as a plus.
Intermediate computer skills; Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PowerBI, and Outlook
EDUCATION LEVEL / CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
