Luck Stone is seeking a Millright to join our traveling Construction Team. Position is responsible for leading the structural fabrication from blueprints or by creating ad hoc drawings to complete jobs. Will operate mobile equipment needed to perform jobs. Responsible for considering budget restrictions when planning and implementing jobs.
Travel is Sunday night/Monday (depending on project location) through Thursday. Travel will be to our sites in VA/NC/SC/GA. Hourly pay plus travel incentive and per diem.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Assist with leading the team regarding shop and/or plant maintenance projects to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and of the highest quality.
Review blueprints to envision final project, plan for manpower and correct tooling, and identify any inaccuracies or efficiency opportunities.
Make spot changes and/or partner with Engineering to make changes to drawings and blueprints.
Troubleshoot mobile and stationary equipment to determine the best method of fabrication and repair.
Utilize the safest and most cost-effective method to perform maintenance and repairs on stationery and mobile equipment to restore equipment to factory specifications.
Align machines and equipment, using hoists, jacks, hand tools, squares, rules, micrometers, lasers, and plumb bobs.
Assemble machinery and bolts, welds, rivets, or otherwise fasten equipment to foundation or other structures, using hand tools and power tools.
Operate lathe or milling machine to grind, file, and turn machine parts to dimensional specifications.
Operate cranes or other heavy equipment to facilitate completion of projects.
Work within precise limits or standards of accuracy.
Collaborate with and influence onsite management to problem-solve on the best methods of installation, scheduling, and effective use of plant equipment and infrastructure.
Assist with teaching and training other associates in basic welding and fabrication, maintenance practices, and Luck Companies' values and leadership.
Experience needed to successfully perform this role:
5+ years welding and fabrication experience in a construction or industrial environment.
High school diploma or GED
Ability to read blueprints
Strong Troubleshooting skills and mechanical Aptitude
Ability to safely operate and maintain heavy equipment
Ability to lift and carry up to 45 pounds
Prior experience with mobile and stationary equipment repair.
