The Military Relations Manager supports members of the military, veterans, and their families in living the Gospel of Jesus Christ, inviting others to come unto Christ, caring for those in need, and uniting families for eternity. The manager works with military relations missionary couples, chaplains, military group leaders, mission presidents, and stake presidents to coordinate military ministry, services, and products.
Senior military experience
Bachelor's degree and eight years of experience or a master's degree with six years of experience and/or equivalent education and experience.
Requires the ability to change the thinking or gain acceptance in sensitive situations.
Advanced knowledge of product and technology services for supporting missionaries and military members
Previous management experience or supervisory experience either directly managing employees or in a project management role; experience with volunteers preferred
Interpersonal Skills:
Create a culture of Christ-like leadership, collaboration, and excellence within the military relations team
Advanced communication skills to convey complex information and develop strong relationships
Effective interpersonal skills, high emotional intelligence, and the ability to inspire and motivate others.
Other language skills preferred
Service as the primary point of contact for all military-related issues for the Church
Overseeing military relations missionary couples for retention and activation of individuals and families serving in the military
Coordinating with mission presidents and stake presidents in military locations for sacrament authorization
Military relation missionary recruitment, training, and communications
Leading and managing the work of service missionaries supporting military relations
Training and seminar presentations
Resource management and support for military members/families
Planning and executing meetings for the Military Advisory Committee
Fostering collaborative relationships with local, state, federal, and international organizations, agencies, and officials relevant to supporting members of the Church who are veterans or actively serving in the military, and their families
Researching, planning, implementing, and reporting on military relations products and services
Developing policies, guidelines, and operating procedures for specific and general audiences
