Job Title: Military Education Benefit Clerk
Job Description:
Job Summary
The Military Veterans Clerk assists with various Departments of Veterans Affairs educational benefit programs for the Veteran and Military Success Center, consults with veterans, members of the military and their families about education benefits and assists in resolving problems and concerns, maintains a database of enrollment records for all students using VA benefits, calculates eligible tuition and fees to be certified to the Department of Veterans Affairs and handles other matters related to student's GI Bill benefits, process enrollment updates and ensure that Purdue is in compliance with VA regulations. This position also assists with campus processes and policies that help and assist military-connected students. Examples include but may not be limited to Federal Tuition Assistance, absence policy, and withdrawals for military connected students.
Hybrid work will be considered for this position based on the candidate's location and interest. 1 day per week during August

Required:
High School Diploma/GED
4 years of office or administrative experience related to military-connected education benefits such as the GI Bill, Tuition Assistance, or state-administered veterans' education benefits
Proficient computer and related software skills, e.g. word processing, spreadsheets, database, data query, Internet, etc. Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
Excellent data entry, problem-solving, organizational, analytical, communication (oral & written), telephone etiquette, and customer service skills
Ability to meet deadlines, work with minimal supervision, and work well in a team environment
Preferred:
Previous experience with military-connected education benefits such as the GI Bill, Tuition Assistance, or state-administered veterans' education benefits
Knowledge of Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act regulations
