Mile High Health Alliance (MHHA) is a diverse coalition of organizations within and beyond the health sector focused on improving health of Denver residents. Our members include health systems, community health centers, local government agencies, physical and behavioral health organizations, and social service and community based organizations.

Our Model MHHA members are committed to our mission of achieving better health through collaboration, together to breaking down siloes and transforming the health system to address community-identified needs. We focus on the 1/3 of residents enrolled in Medicaid, as well as the uninsured and underinsured, which together comprise almost 50% of Denver's population. Priority Issues MHHA's initial priorities were derived from the first Denver Community Health Improvement Plan (CHIP): first access to care, integrated physical/behavioral healthcare, high needs patients, and access to specialty care.

In January 2018 the board approved a new 3-year strategic framework with three additional goals: Leads as a convener to explore, connect and advocate for our members and stakeholders Advances equity by addressing social determinants of health (SDoH), aligning activities with member priorities Provides information, communication, and tools for action on relevant health issues What We Do Developed a specialty care referral network to more efficiently and effectively connect primary care providers with physician specialists Host a Regional Health Connector who connects primary care providers with community based programs to improve health outcomes Spearheaded a data sharing pilot to better understand the challenges of high needs patients Participate in a partnership to address housing instability and safety issues by screening patients at safety-net clinics Convened people from the immigrant and refugee communities to learn more about the impact of federal policy and public rhetoric on their access to care
