$1.60/hour (2nd Shift)

Job Description

CVG produces innovative cab structures, sleeper boxes, body panels and structural components for the global heavy truck, construction, agriculture and specialty vehicle industries. Services also include partnering with original equipment manufacturers on project management, prototyping and manufacturing.

BASIC FUNCTIONS:

Responsible for utilizing equipment to consistently produce a quality product in an efficient manner and responsible for:

  • Operate MIG welding equipment to weld metal components together with precision and accuracy.

  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the appropriate welding techniques and parameters.

  • Set up welding machines based on the requirements of the project, including selecting appropriate voltage and wire speed settings.

  • Clean and prepare surfaces for welding by removing rust, scale, and other contaminants.

  • Monitor welding performance and make adjustments as necessary to ensure weld quality and adherence to specifications.

  • Inspect welded joints to detect defects such as cracks, porosity, and incomplete fusion, and perform necessary repairs or adjustments.

  • Follow safety procedures and guidelines to maintain a safe work environment and prevent accidents or injuries.

  • Collaborate with colleagues and supervisors to prioritize tasks and meet production deadlines.

  • Maintain welding equipment by performing routine maintenance and troubleshooting issues as needed.

  • Keep accurate records of welding activities, including materials used, hours worked, and completed projects.
