Support environmental remediation projects and have a hand in transforming tomorrow. As a mid-level environmental engineer/geologist/hydrogeologist you will work on environmental consulting activities that may include contaminated site assessment and remediation projects, remedial designs, and treatment systems for hazardous and toxic waste contaminated properties. During your time with us, you will also analyze and interpret geologic, hydrogeologic, and environmental chemistry data and contribute to the development of technical reports. You may perform aspects of engineering and design functions and support environmental investigation and remediation projects, including all phases of planning, data analysis as well as reporting, oversight and data management. Works under minimal supervision, work is reviewed for adequacy on completion. May provide some technical guidance to less experienced design and engineering personnel.

  • Perform a variety of assignments involved in either the coordination of various environmental engineering, construction, purchasing, scheduling and start up aspects of a project, or the technical excellence of the environmental engineering portion of a project across all disciplines

  • May use computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks

  • Assist Project Manager, Leadership and Safety Lead

  • Ability to lead projects and interface directly with customer/client

  • Participates in planning, cost development and management, and scheduling for assigned projects

  • 4 or more years of environmental experience including soil, groundwater, and soil vapor sampling

  • Bachelors or Masters in Engineering, Geology, Hydrogeology, or other closely related technical degree

  • 40-hr HAZWOPER certification or ability to obtain and maintain

  • Environmentally focused education or experience

The ideal candidate should possess and can demonstrate some of the following skills and knowledge:

  • Team and safety-focused, possessing a solution-based work approach

  • 5 or more years of experience

  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written) to communicate effectively with project managers, project teams, subcontractors, and other stakeholders

  • Ability to work in a team environment with a "no task is too small" attitude

  • A person already residing within commuting distance of our Atlanta office is highly preferred

The Materials and Manufacturing Technology team within BR&T is focused on discovering, developing, and transitioning innovative fabrication and assembly technologies into Boeing production operations. Our highly capable engineers excel in a team environment of challenge and opportunity on multiple projects, and partner with Boeing business units, government customers, global suppliers, and universities to rapidly mature key technologies to production readiness. We are currently seeking a lead engineer to staff the Boeing Manufacturing Design Center (BMDC) at Georgia Tech, focused on non-traditional uses for robotics. The center houses BR&T professionals and projects on site at the Georgia Institute of Technology. The facility fosters continued development of innovations in manufacturing systems in collaboration with GT faculty and students from initial concept through pilot scale. The intention of the facility is to leverage GT talent while increasing the maturity and applicability of technology that can transfer directly into to the Boeing Company. Georgia Tech is one of Boeing's Strategic University with a strong faculty research history and a world class leader in manufacturing technology and processes. The BMDC facility offers opportunities to potentially foster additional external industry research collaboration with other companies (Delta, CAT, BMW, Cola-Cola, Delta, etc…). The candidate will work on robotics/automation development projects for improving manufacturing systems, quality and in-service support of Boeing products. Typical responsibilities include: Evaluating and developing equipment, process and software. Creating applications and simulations, and programming embedded computing systems and PLCs to support automation efforts. Gathering, documenting and maintaining requirements/procedures (e.g., equipment specifications, certification, training). Coordinating with supplier management for purchase of equipment and service. Creating and managing project schedules in support of the overall team effort. Coordinating with Boeing stakeholders to transition technologies to the factory floor. Reporting results to the team and management.
