Job Description:

The Boeing Company is looking for a highly motivated experienced Solution Architect to join our IT team responsible for providing the IT Solution-set for Business Systems, specifically Environmental Health and Safety, and Facilities and Asset Management for the Boeing Enterprise. This position will be located in Renton, Washington.

In this position you will work with other IT Architects, developers and designers to evaluate the current and future needs of our business functions, and design the end-to-end system architecture as well as specific IT solutions, to support the business needs. The IT solutions will be comprised of SaaS and COTS applications, Boeing-developed applications, and 3rd Party Services.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Evaluate feasibility of go-forward IT solutions and alternatives (SaaS, COTS, 3rd Party solutions) against Boeing's architecture and Information Security standards

  • Develop and maintain architecture views and models using ARIS and/or CAMEO

  • Design and define integration patterns for the integrated system

  • Evaluate products to assess suitability for integration into the current suite of applications/products

  • Assess impact of architectural decisions to the suite of applications/products

  • Validate regulatory and compliance requirements are completed and appropriate.

Qualifications

Typical Education/Experience:

Technical bachelor's degree and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or a Master's degree with typically 3 or more years' or a PhD degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A technical degree is defined as any four year degree, or greater, in a mathematic, scientific or information technology field of study.

Required Qualifications:

  • This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a "US Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. 120.15 is required. "US Person" includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

  • Minimum of 1 year of hands-on experience in object oriented design and implementation

  • Knowledge regarding standard architecture methodologies such as TOGAF or Zachman

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience with Lean/Agile software development (i.e. XP, Kanban, Scrum, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with DevOps

  • Experience using DevOps/CI-CD and supporting tools such as TFS, Maven, Gradle, Jenkins, Artifactory, Git

  • Minimum of 2 years SaaS Cloud architecture experience

  • SAFe experience

  • Minimum of 2 years experience with large-scale integrated architecture principles and technology architecture/design in a large complex

  • Experience representing product technical direction to stakeholders
