As a Middleware System Programmer, you will work with the Platform Team to implement and administer middleware software and technologies for the State of Minnesota. You will also provide technical expertise when deploying, troubleshooting and supporting custom-applications that are business critical to agency-partners.
Candidates must clearly demonstrate all of the following qualifications in their resume.
This position requires a minimum of four (4) years of experience in an information technology role with primary responsibility for the technical administration of complex middleware ecosystems.
A Master's degree in Information Technology or a related field may substitute for three years of experience, related Bachelor's degree may substitute for two years, or related Associate's degree may substitute for one year.
Successful candidate must pass past-employer reference checks and a criminal history verification

Middleware administration experience with WebSphere, Tomcat, and JBoss
Familiarity with configuration management and alerting tools including GitLab and SolarWinds
Working knowledge of Java programming language
Working knowledge of network security and firewalls, and familiarity with f5
Experience with scripting and automation tools such as cron, batch, shell, Ansible, and Jacl
Working knowledge of Linux, Windows and z/OS operating systems
Working knowledge of file organizations and access methods used by Windows, UNIX, Linux and mainframe operating systems
Working knowledge of Unix System Services, Linux and Windows command syntax
Ability to analyze problems in a logical manner to isolate failing components
Effective communication skills to work with technical and non-technical crowd
Ability to lead and implement technical projects from sketching to deploying to supporting and updating
Ability to work with diverse teams and to influence others based on technical merits
Ability to learn quickly and apply new knowledge immediately
Ability to work in a fast-paced, and ambiguous environment
