Long-Term Subbing Position

Position Summary:

Royal Middle School is seeking a dynamic and skilled CTE STEM Certified Long Term Substitute to teach Robotics and Automation, Design and Modeling, Computer Science, and Video Production. The ideal candidate will be passionate about engaging students in hands-on, project-based learning while fostering creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking. This position is responsible for maintaining the continuity of instruction and supporting student learning and success in a classroom setting during the absence of the regular teacher.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver instruction in CTE/STEM subjects including Robotics and Automation, Design and Modeling, Computer Science, and Video Production, following the established curriculum.
• Facilitate hands-on projects and activities that encourage students to explore STEM concepts and develop technical skills.
• Provide a positive and productive learning environment that supports student engagement and achievement.
• Use appropriate technology, tools, and equipment to enhance lessons and student understanding.
• Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and maintaining accurate grade records.
• Collaborate with colleagues and administrators to ensure smooth transitions and consistency in the classroom environment.
• Uphold the classroom management policies and procedures set by the regular teacher and the school.
• Communicate with parents and guardians as necessary regarding student performance and behavior.
• Ensure the safety and proper use of tools and equipment in the classroom and lab spaces.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the school administration.

Qualifications:

• Current CTE STEM certification or the ability to obtain certification.
• Experience teaching in one or more of the following areas: Robotics, Automation, Design and Modeling, Computer Science, or Video Production.
• Knowledge of the Project Lead The Way (PLTW) curriculum or other STEM/CTE programs is preferred.
• Strong classroom management skills and the ability to adapt lessons to meet diverse student needs.
• Proficiency with technology, including relevant software and hardware tools used in Robotics, Design, Computer Science, and Video Production.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with students, staff, and the community.

Preferred Experience:

• Previous experience in a middle school setting or working with young adolescents.
• Familiarity with project-based learning and inquiry-based instructional strategies.
• Experience with multimedia tools and video production software.

Terms of Employment:

Starting Date: November 12-January 06- 27 days- 2024-25 School Year

Salary: $305.19-$634.67 per diem- Based on Education and Experience, 2024-25 Salary Schedule
