JOB DESCRIPTION

This position teaches 6th, 7th and 8th grade math along with 8th grade science, 7th grade literature and religion.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

• Actualize curricula and activities to meet academic standards

• Strategize and carry out assessments that allow students to progress academically

• Use data to refine curriculum and inform pedagogical practices

• Grade Span Level activities

• Be part of the greater school community

MUST BE ABLE TO

• Hold students accountable for their behavior and proper delegation to the administration when necessary

• Be accountable for students' mastery of academic standards

• Communicate effectively with students, parents/guardians, and colleagues

• Maintain a record of academic performance; skills-based mastery

• Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities

• Prepare classroom for class activities

• Provide a variety of learning materials and resources for use in educational activities

• Able to take feedback and implement any necessary recommendations made by the administration

• Work collaboratively with classroom aide and provide guidance; if applicable

QUALIFICATIONS

• Mastery of and a passion for their academic subjects

• Willingness to be a team player and evident self-motivation

• Bachelor's degree is required; a Master's degree is preferred

• Minimum of two years of teaching experience in a school setting

• Valid State Certification is preferred

• Belief in and alignment with The Catholic Church's core beliefs and philosophies

SALARY

• Starting salary for a new middle school level teacher is $40,000, negotiable based on experience and program needs.

All hires are contingent upon successfully completing a CORI (Criminal Offender Record Information) background check, and State mandated fingerprinting.
