Middle School Teacher

Duties

South Side Christian Academy is looking for missionary-minded individuals for teaching positions in 6-8th grade for the 2024-25 school year. SSCA is a completely tuition-donated Christ-centered school in South Peoria, IL serving primarily under-privileged minority students who cannot afford a private Christian education. We believe that Jesus Christ is the only way to true transformation of any individual, family, or community and that education is an important conduit through which Christ can be shared and lives can be changed. Our mission is to reach and transform children and families for Christ by establishing a solid biblical worldview, confirming value and hope in Christ, and preparing each young person through a high quality education for a life of service to God and others. Qualifications

Qualifications: All applicants must have the following qualifications:

• Converted Christian believers in Jesus Christ who live a life devoted to following God's Word

• Must accept without reservation the statement of faith of South Side Christian Academy

• Be a member/regular attendee of a Christian church

• Have a heart for ministry and a godly love of children

• Certified to teach elementary grades by the state of Illinois--preferred but other teacher licensure will be considered

• Be able to perform each essential task of managing, establishing, organizing, and instructing a classroom that provides a quality learning environment for students

• Be willing to listen and respond to counsel

• An attitude of dedication, commitment, and flexibility

Salary/Benefits

40,000-55,000 depending on experience. Vision and Dental, 403b retirement plan and bonus, generous Christmas bonus, PTO and sick leave.
