CATEGORICALLY FUNDED School Site: Graves Middle School (Gr. 7-8) Full-Time Interventionist: Single Subject

  • Math BCLAD Stipend for eligible candidates Up to 10 years max service credit for new hires Eligible for medical, dental, & vision benefits Definition: Under the general supervision of the site administrator, the Interventionist serves as specialized classroom teacher for students in need of academic intervention.

    Emphasis will be placed on addressing students' academic needs in English Language Arts or Mathematics. Essential Duties: The duties listed below are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work that might be performed. The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment to the position. • Teach academic intervention for students identified through academics assessment results. • Establish and maintain standards of student behavior required to achieve effective participation in all activities. • Develop and use core, supplemental and intervention instructional materials to address student developmental levels using evidence-based strategic. • Create an effective environment for learning through functional and attractive displays, such as bulletin boards, interest centers, etc. • Maintain professional competence through in-service education activities provided by the District and or professional growth development. • Perform related duties as assigned by the administrator, to assist in the function of the school.

Qualifications, Knowledge, and Abilities:• Single Subject Credential in English or Mathematics with BCLAD, CLAD, or English Learner authorization (ELA1)• One year of successful experience at K-8 level implementing the California Content Standards is required• Flexibility and open mindedness about curriculum organization and approaches to teaching• Applicant must meet all CBEST and NCLB requirements

Comments and Other Information

Appointment to this position predicated upon submitting a negative TB result. In addition, the selected candidate must complete the state fingerprinting requirements and the district must receive a certificate of clearance by the California Department of Justice and Federal Bureau of Investigation.
