Middle School Special Education Teachers

The Oceanport Board of Education has openings available for Middle School Special Education Teachers effective September 1, 2024.

Required Certifications:

• Teacher of Students with Disabilities or Teacher of the Handicapped

• NJ Teaching Certificate in English/Math or Middle School with Language Arts/Literacy/Math Specialization in Grades 5-8 preferred

Successful Candidates Must Possess the Following:

• A passion for student success

• Strong content and curricular knowledge required

• Ability to inspire intellectual curiosity in students through an innovative approach to lesson design and implementation

• Experience analyzing data and formulating action plans designed to meet the needs of individual learners

• Proven ability to integrate technology that enhances student learning in meaningful and productive ways

• Ability to engage in self-evaluation with regard to performance and professional growth

• Experience working collaboratively on a cross-curricular team

• Strong communication skills

• Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws regarding education and students

• Experience/training in remediating behavioral and social challenges for students.

• Must have experience working with Related Services professionals and CST members in order to collaborate on IEP development.
