Overtime Status: Exempt

Salary Range: $65,000-$70,000 per year

Position Responsibilities and Duties:

• Acts as classroom teacher providing support and/or monitoring all areas of the individualized education plan.

• Administers, transfers, and interprets diagnostic data as appropriate to their area

• Establish and maintain standards of student behavior to achieve a functional learning atmosphere.

• Adapt the curriculum with individual plans and instructional materials to the needs of each student.

• Evaluate student's academic and social growth, keep appropriate records, and prepare progress reports.

• Maintain a program inventory of materials and supplies

• Submit budget request needs

• Promote inclusion opportunities for students and collaborate with general education teachers as appropriate to student needs.

• Maintain accurate and compliant paperwork for IEP caseload including quarterly progress reports.

• Maintains open, professional communication with team members (e.g., teachers, principal, parents, related services personnel, etc.)

• Supervise and direct classroom paraprofessionals

Minimum Skills or Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree (BA) in Education from four-year College or university

• An appropriate and current Arizona Teaching Certificate in the field of Special Education (i.e., applicable to position seeking)

• Hold a current AZ IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card

Work Environment and Physical Demands:

• Occasional exposure to dust, pollen, and fumes

• Requires frequent reaching, handling, sitting, standing, walking, hearing, talking, stooping, bending, crouching, kneeling, running, carrying, and lifting 50 or more lbs.

• Must be able to see and hear within normal range with or without correction.

• The noise intensity level is moderate to high
