About the Role:

Prospect Schools is seeking an organized, flexible, and mission-driven Social Worker to join us in support of our growing network of schools. The ideal candidate is fully dedicated to the mission of Prospect Schools and to supporting the success of our students and families.This person will report directly to the Director of School Culture and be responsible for supporting the socio-emotional needs of students through counseling and helping to foster an inclusive, welcoming environment for the broader school community.

Counseling and Socio-Emotional Development:

  • Design and support grade-level programming and advisory curriculum aimed at the development of all students' socio-emotional competencies

  • Assess and identify high-risk students and provide supportive individual and group counseling, and/or referral to additional services as needed

  • Provide mandated counseling to student with IEPs as needed

  • Conduct crisis evaluation and assessments and make recommendations for next steps

  • Serve as a resource for advisors and teachers in building skill on responding to students' emotional and developmental needs

  • Connect the school with community partners to identify additional support for students and families

  • Compliance

  • Lead yearly mandated reporter training and act as a point person for questions that arise on how to respond to sensitive situations

  • Support the Special Services team in the IEP and evaluation process, as needed

  • Ensure that all counseling notes are tracked and entered within 48hours for individual and group counseling and immediately for crisis evaluations

  • Act as the McKinney Vento liaison as needed

Student Culture:

  • Develop, own, and lead attendance plans for students who meet the threshold. Including but not limited to home visits

  • Lead family workshops based on the need of the school

  • Model how to build strong, mutually respectful relationships with students and families and support teachers to do the same

  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of socio-emotional programming and interventions in classroom, and support revision of systems and curricula as needed

  • Support in school-wide systems such as Arrival, Lunch, and Dismissal with an eye for student safety and inclusiveness

Candidate Requirements:

  • Masters's Degree in Social Work required, LMSW preferred

  • At least 2 years of social work/counseling experience, preferably in a school environment preferred

  • Exceptionally strong organizational skills, with keen attention to detail

  • Adept at collaborating and building community with others

Salary:

Employees at Prospect Schools are provided with a competitive salary. Our salaries are set through a lens of equity, and based on an individual's skills, education, and years of experience relevant to the role. As a teacher, your salary is determined by both years of teaching experience and postsecondary education. The salary range for this role is from $60,000-$85,546.
