Middle School Social Studies Teacher

The Oceanport Board of Education has an anticipated opening for a Middle School Social Studies Teacher effective September 1, 2024.

Required Certifications:

NJ Teaching Certificate for Social Studies, or

• K-6 Elementary Certification with Social Studies Specialization in Grades 5-8

• Teacher of Students with Disabilities or Teacher of the Handicapped preferred but not required

Successful Candidates Must Possess the Following:

• A passion for student success

• Ability to inspire intellectual curiosity in students through an innovative approach to lesson design and implementation

• Strong content and curricular knowledge required

• Knowledge of literacy standards and working collaboratively with ELA teacher(s) to implement cross curricular activities

• Experience analyzing data to implement small-group strategies to meet the needs of individual learners

• Proven ability to integrate technology that enhances student learning in meaningful and productive ways

• Ability to engage in self-evaluation with regard to performance and professional growth

• Experience working collaboratively on a cross-curricular team

• Strong communication skills

• Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws regarding education and students
