Middle School Social Studies Teacher

GEO 21st Century Charter School is seeking highly motivated and experienced Middle School Social Studies Teachers to join our team. The ideal candidates will have a passion for teaching and a strong background in social studies.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with state standards and meet the needs of diverse learners

• Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters student learning and growth

• Assess student progress and provide timely feedback to students and parents/guardians

• Collaborate with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary units and projects

• Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay current with best practices in education

• Communicate regularly with parents

• Continually assess student progress toward mastery of standards and keep students and parents well informed of student progress by collecting and tracking data, providing daily feedback, weekly assessments, and occasional parent/teacher conferences

• Work with the Special Education teachers and administration to serve special needs students in the classroom

• Establish and enforce rules for behavior and procedures for maintaining order among the students for whom you are responsible

• Accept and incorporate feedback and coaching from administrative staff

Requirements

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Education or related field

• Valid Indiana Professional Educator or Initial Practitioner certification in Social Studies for middle school (no substitute licenses)

• Strong knowledge of social studies content and pedagogy

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners

• Experience with technology integration in the classroom is a plus
