This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to building a positive school culture, collaborate with fellow educators, and make a meaningful impact in the classroom. We are seeking a team oriented, collaborative, energetic, and creative science teacher. This full-time position will begin with the 2024-2025 school year.

Candidates should have a solid understanding of instruction and interactive best practices to enhance science learning. In addition, the candidate will be a strong team member, be flexible, have strong instructional and class management skills. This ideal candidate will have a certification, and/or the ability to obtain certification, in both Life and Physical science.

The successful candidate will hold or be able to hold a Maine Department of Education Teacher Certification: 350S (6-12 Physical Science); and/or 395S (6-12 Life Science). In addition the candidate must hold, be eligible to hold or be able to obtain a Maine Educator Certification with a current MDOE Criminal History Records Check. Pay is based upon experience and level of education. Responsibilities: Develop and deliver engaging science curriculum for middle school students. Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports students' academic and social growth. Collaborate with grade-level teams and other teachers to enhance instructional practices and school-wide initiatives.

Utilize innovative teaching methods and technology to inspire and motivate students. Participate in school-wide activities and contribute to the development of school culture. Provide feedback and support to students to help them achieve their best.

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Science Education, Biology, Chemistry, or a related field. Valid teaching license for middle school science (or ability to obtain one). Previous teaching experience is a plus but not required. Knowledge of PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) and BARR (Building Assests Reducing Risks) is appreciated but not mandatory.
