Job Description:

James Madison Preparatory School (www.madisonprep.org) seeks a full-time science teacher for school year 2024-2025. This is a general science position with a focus on middle school in grades 6-8, although exact teaching assignments will be determined based on the skills, interests, and aptitudes of existing and new hire teachers. The teacher will be required to teach a class of approximately 10-20 students for up to 5 class periods per school day.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and educate students in a classroom setting

• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans

• Adhere to established teaching curriculum

• Maintain positive relationships with students and parents

• Document and share student grades and evaluations

• Maintain the health and safety of all students

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in teaching or other educational fields

• Strong classroom management skills

• Ability to build rapport with students

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Strong leadership qualities

Other:

Salary: $43,000/year + bonus performance pay
