Overview: St. Michael's Episcopal Day School is searching for an exceptional Middle School Math/Homeroom Teacher to join our team! This exciting opportunity is perfect for someone with a passion for shaping young minds and a knack for making math fun. As the Middle School Math Teacher, you will be an integral part of our dedicated Education Team, contributing to the academic and personal development of students in grades 6, 7, and 8. Get ready for action-packed days filled with mathematical discoveries and the occasional "aha" moments! Our Homeroom Teachers ensure that students start and end their day in a supportive home base. Teachers take this time to get to know their students, and offer guidance and information to help them navigate the day, activities, chapels, and special events in school life. Responsibilities: The Middle School Math Teacher will play a crucial role in providing students with a solid foundation in mathematics. Key responsibilities include:

  • Design and implement math lessons for middle school students, covering Pre-algebra, Algebra, and Geometry.

  • Create a differentiated classroom environment that caters to the diverse learning needs of students.

  • Foster a passion for mathematics by incorporating innovative teaching methods into the curriculum. Your mission is to make math more than just numbers.

  • Collaborate with fellow teachers to develop interdisciplinary projects and activities that make math and science come alive for students.

  • Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom culture, promoting equity and respect among students.

  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, administrators, and colleagues about curriculum, student progress, and any relevant issue and any relevant issues.

Qualifications: -Bachelor's Degree and teaching credential required, Masters Degree Preferred

  • Extensive knowledge and ability to teach mathematics in Middle School grades 6,7, and 8, including Pre-algebra, Algebra and Geometry.

  • Homeroom Experience Knowledge and Abilities: -Strong commitment to equity and inclusion in the classroom
