Middle School Math Teacher (Grades 6-8)
The Academy at St. Joan of Arc (the Academy) seeks a 6th-8th Grade Middle School Math Teacher who is enthusiastic about being part of Catholic education innovation. The Academy will be breaking ground as the only independent Catholic elementary school on Chicago's North Shore. The school will open in the fall of 2019 at the site of St. Joan of Arc School (SJA), a parochial school which will close at the end of the 2018-19 academic year. With this change, the Academy seeks a Middle School Math Teacher to be part of its founding team of faculty.
The Academy is uniquely governed by an independent Board of Directors. The nine-member Board is comprised of current and former school parents, select leaders from outside the school with specific subject matter expertise and a representative from the Archdiocese of Chicago. At the heart of the Academy at St. Joan of Arc is the understanding of the importance of a curriculum that emphasizes both faith and reason. The Academy at St. Joan of Arc embraces a Christ-centered curriculum in a values-based environment structured on Catholic teachings.
The Academy at St. Joan of Arc will provide a premier elementary school experience built around the way students worship, learn and live. It will offer upwards of 200 students a high-quality Catholic, values-based education.
