Dual Language Immersion North County Job Description Middle School Math Aide TITLE: Middle School Aide REPORT TO:

Executive Director, or designee GENERAL SUMMARY Under the supervision of the Executive Director, or designee, the Middle School Aide helps students develop and strengthen academic skills in the area of mathematics and ELA by providing assistance to the math and ELA teachers and to students during class They may be responsible for providing academic tutoring for designated groups of students; organizing and providing extension activities, and completing related work as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS Strong understanding of CA middle school math and ELA standards and concepts is required. Enrollment in a teaching credential program is desired.

Experience in an educational setting or working with young people is desired; Fluent Spanish speaking, writing, and listening and experience in youth work is desired; Have excellent verbal communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills; Basic knowledge of behavior modification and conflict resolution strategies and techniques; TB test clearance and criminal justice fingerprint clearance are required; Bilingual/Biliterate or Conversational Spanish, preferred; Valid First Aid and CPR Certificate issued by an authorized agency.
