Job Summary
The Middle School (grades 6-8) is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced educator to provide leave coverage teaching eighth-grade English, starting on October 7, 2023 and continuing through February 14, 2025. The long-term substitute will have four class sections with at least two class periods for preparation in a rotating block schedule.
The substitute will meet regularly with the grade-level team and the middle school English department to discuss curriculum, pedagogy, student progress, and special initiatives. The eighth-grade English curriculum asks students to learn to take a stand and develop their own ideas regarding complex issues of culture and justice through readings and writings. The ideal candidate is dynamic, highly collaborative and committed to professional growth in their discipline and in their teaching practice.
