Mid-Level Software Engineer

Job Description: Altamira is looking for a skilled Software Engineer/Developer with a strong technical background to contribute to our work in the Intelligence Community (IC). This role involves providing Agile Development, Security and Operations (DevSecOps) support for crucial data transfer architecture components. The focus is on enhancing reporting capabilities and delivering vital mission data to support intelligence missions across the globe. REQUIRED CLEARANCE: TS/SCI - CI Poly required.

Role: The ideal candidate will have experience in Java, C/C++, Python, JavaScript (Angular/React) Web development, and possess a Security+/CISSP certification. The role involves developing, maintaining, and enhancing complex software systems based on documented requirements. As part of our collaborative team, you will review and test software components, resolve problem reports, and contribute to system design. Qualified individuals should have 4-10 years of experience in similar programs, a degree in Computer Science or a related discipline (or equivalent experience), and proficiency in RESTful Web Services, Linux systems, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Git version control, and Cloud based development, with Amazon Web Services or equivalent. Tasks include:

• Develop and maintain/enhance complex and diverse software systems.

• Work individually or as part of a team.

• Review and test software components for adherence to design requirements.

• Document test results.

• Generate documentation deliverables for contracts.

• Resolve software problem reports.

• Utilize appropriate software development and design methodologies.

• Provide specific input to the software components of system design.

• Conform to the security requirements of the systems.

Required Individual Qualifications:

• 4-10 years' experience in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or another related discipline.

• In lieu of a degree, four (4) years of additional software engineering experience may be substituted.

Technical Skills:

• Experience programming with Java, C/C++, Python.

• Experience with JavaScript (React or Angular) web development.

• Understanding of networking fundamentals.

• Experience with Docker/Kubernetes containerization.

• Security+/CISSP certification required.

• Experience with RESTful Web Services/full stack web development using Java or Python.

• Experience with Linux (Ubuntu/Rocky/Red Hat 7/8) systems.

• Experience with MySQL (MariaDB), PostgreSQL or other relational databases.

• Experience with Git version control.

• Experience as part of an Agile Scrum based development environment.

• Experience with Cloud based development using Amazon Web Services or equivalent.
