This is a Grant Funded position.
Under the supervision of the Community Health and Wellness Division (CHWD) Clinical Lead and medical oversight by the CHWD Supervising Physician. The Mid-level provider will function as a healthcare provider for patients seeking Tuberculosis evaluation and treatment. This position will work with the clinical team to create and maintain efficient, patient-centered daily clinic operations while providing comprehensive public health services to all Harris County Public Health Tuberculosis Clinic patients.
Provides direct patient care in accordance with the Texas Medical Board, Texas Board of Nurse Examiners, Nursing practice act, and Harris County Public Health (HCPH) procedures and protocols. Complies with US Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC) and Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) guidelines for treating/screening program-specific clients.
Completes and reviews health histories, performs physical examinations, and reviews and orders appropriate laboratory tests and immunizations.
Orders and monitors prescribed medication in accordance with Pharmacy D regulations.
Makes referrals to other providers or agencies, as appropriate.
Uses Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Physician Assistant (PA) expertise to serve as a mentor and resource person to all clinical staff.
Seeks to assure that policies and procedures are followed.
Assists with training new clinical staff.
Attends and actively participates in clinical provider meetings.
Other duties as assigned.

Education:
Nurse Practitioner or as an Advanced Practice Provider
Physician Assistant
Experience:
Licensure:
Valid Texas Driver's License
Licensed to practice in Texas as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Physician Assistant (PA)
Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Certified (AHA Approved)
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and navigating Epic EMR
Ability to interpret x-rays
Excellent communication skills (verbal & written)
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and foster teamwork in a diverse environment
Knowledge of current CDC and DSHS guidelines for treating/screening program specific clients
