Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) is seeking a Mid-Level Information Technology Engineer for their Missile & Weapon Systems (MWS) organization located in St. Charles, MO, on the western side of the St. Louis metropolitan area. Missile & Weapon Systems is on a significant long-term growth trajectory and is seeking engineers to join our Cruise Missile Systems (CMS) and Direct Attack (DA) teams. These teams design, develop, and produce world class precision guided munitions and cruise missiles employed by the United States Air Force, Navy, and dozens of allied nations around the world. Position Responsibilities:

MWS is establishing an engineering laboratory organization to develop and maintain laboratory infrastructure necessary to execute its programs. As a member of this laboratory operations team you will be responsible for:

  • Designing, implementing, and supporting computing system environments and solutions to satisfy engineering needs. These environments will include cross platform (multiple OS) and new OS integration

  • Validating, adapting, and configuring computing platforms with new hardware and software to meet enhanced security and other requirements

  • Providing computer systems operations support. This includes the ability to perform tests and evaluations, and to execute troubleshooting techniques to identify problems and to recommend and implement solutions

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is require.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry

  • More than 3 years of work experience involving the integration of computing hardware and software components into functioning computing systems

  • More than 3 years of experience with Windows operating systems

  • More than 1 year of experience troubleshooting and repairing computing system hardware and software

  • Working familiarity with other operating systems such as Linux

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience working with computing system suppliers to install and configure hardware and software components

  • Fundamental understanding of engineering tools such as CAD, compilers, and configuration management

  • Flexibility and willingness to troubleshoot and resolve computing system emergencies

  • Good written and verbal communication skills

Typical Education & Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
