Work you'll do

In this role, the DBA will be responsible for developing innovative SQL & PL/SQL solutions to improve the performance, integrity and security of the clients databases in order to support the client's mission. The DBA will serve as a champion for driving data quality initiatives and pre-emptive production support and will quantify the client impact. The DBA will:

  • Write packages, stored procedures and functions, and triggers.

  • Read, understand and improve upon existing SQL and PL/SQL code.

  • Unit test code, and identify and fix bugs.

  • Define and create data structures for schemas including tables, views, indexes etc.

  • Assist in developing deployment scripts for releases.

  • Analyze legacy data and production support issues; determine areas of improvement and propose remediation; execute pre-emptive data remediation; analyze and report the improvements/results.

  • Generate weekly status updates, technical documentation, and milestone reports that show the benefits of data quality and pre-emptive data remediation.

Systems Engineering

Our Systems Engineering team delivers large-scale software applications and integrated systems, and assists clients with architecture design, assessment and optimization, and definition. We develop service-oriented architecture (SOA) and other integration solutions to enable information sharing and management between business partners and disparate processes and systems, and we deliver technology enablement to support CIO services transformation.

Systems Engineering professionals focus on key client issues that impact the core business by maximizing operational value, driving down the cost of quality, and enhancing technology innovation. Our teams deliver a wide range of services, including application architecture design and optimization, application modernization, business process management and solution integration, custom application design and development, and large-scale technology delivery program efforts.

Qualifications

Required:

  • 2-5 years of experience with Oracle and PL/SQL of experience in software development.

  • Solid understanding of Relational Model.

  • Possess a strong understanding of SQL, PL/SQL and Oracle platform.

  • Solid understanding of Oracle database design and development using PL/SQ.

  • Understand how to develop and enforce coding standards and source code development standards.

  • Understand table indexing and query strategies, database objects maintenance and performance issues.

Preferred:

  • Ability to support and understand multiple existing applications and schemas.

  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage work load.

  • Must be self-directed and able to function both independently and as part of a team.

  • Demonstrate advanced critical thinking and trouble-shooting capabilities to assess, prioritize, plan, and implement tasks and solutions effectively,
