Mid- Level Acas Cyber Engineer- Active Ts/Sci Clearance- Reston VA, Jbab DC, College Park MD

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Mid- Level ACAS Cyber Engineer to develop innovative solutions for secure and reliable operations of enterprise computer systems. The ACAS Cyber Engineer involves engineering, designing, developing, and implementing enterprise network cyber defense capabilities to combat sophisticated cyber threats.

Responsibilities:

• Engineer and implement enterprise network cyber defense strategies.

• Utilize and configure cyber defense tools and technologies, including web content filters, email security, IDS/IPS, HBSS, SIEM tools, DNS security, log analysis, network monitoring, and firewalls.

• Understand and apply layered defense and zero trust technologies.

• Identify and counter advanced attack vectors and adversary network threats.

• Work independently or lead small integrated teams to ensure project completion.

• Provide guidance and direction to junior technicians and specialists.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 4 years of experience with DoD Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS).

• Proficient in Windows and Linux, including server installation, configuration, and maintenance.

• Familiarity with STIGs, SCAP, and cybersecurity best practices.

• Educational requirements:

• HS diploma/GED and 7+ years of relevant experience,

• Associate's degree and 5+ years of relevant experience,

• Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of relevant experience,

• Master's degree and 1+ years of relevant experience.

• DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II Certification (e.g., Security+ CE, CCNA-Security, GSEC, SSCP, CySA+, GICSP, or CND).

• Ability to obtain a DoD 8570.01-M CSSP - Infrastructure Support Certification within 30 days of hire (e.g., CEH, CySA+, GICSP, SSCP, CHFI, CFR, Cloud+, or CND). Certifications may be obtained prior to starting the role

• Active TS/SCI clearance, prefers TS/SCI with an active CI POLY, however CI Polygraph can be obtained before starting (typically 4-7 weeks for clearance process)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with tools such as Gigamon, Ansible, Encase, Fidelis, Suricata, Varonis, or VMWare.

• Experience with cloud platforms and services (AWS, Azure, GCP) and authorizing cloud systems.

• Familiarity with big data analytics, machine learning, AI, and anomaly detection.

• Experience with Zero-Trust Architecture, DevSecOps, CI/CD, IaC, CaC, ITIL, and IT Service Management.

• Proficiency in scripting (PowerShell, BASH, Python, Perl).

• Consulting or client-facing experience.

• Ability to automate security configurations and recommend remediation.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex ideas clearly.

• Excellent problem-solving skills.

Compensation:

• Location: Reston VA, JBAB in DC, or College Park MD (onsite)

• Contract Duration: 8 years (Stability until June 2031)

• Salary: $145,000 per year

• Benefits: 11 holidays and 2 weeks of PTO annually, health benefits (medical, dental, vision)
