Job Title: Microwave Production Manager

Location: Mountain View, CA

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Microwave Production Manager who likes a fast-paced, ever-changing environment. ViewRay is growing at a fast pace. Reporting to the VP, Manufacturing, the Microwave Production Manager will oversee operation of Viewray's Linac production.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day operations including internal and outsourced operations for assembly and test of high power microwave devices including medical linear accelerators and related components

  • Lead and direct activities of the production team of technicians and engineers, to ensure achievement of production and quality objectives

  • Establish and maintain operational procedures including work instruction documents, process travellers, and procedures for inspection, assembly, test, pack/ship

  • Implement continuous improvement processes to drive performance and yield to established objectives

  • Help develop and implement long term manufacturing plans and strategies

  • Select, qualify and help maintain suppliers for out-sourced processes

  • Ensure compliance to internal Quality System requirements

  • Ensure compliance to all applicable local, state, federal and national codes

Education, Experience, Skills

  • BA/BS in engineering or relevant discipline, or equivalent experience; advanced degree preferred

  • 8+ years experience in leading high-power microwave production operations

  • Knowledgeable and established competency in operations and processes relating to microwave tube production, related components and associated subsystems

  • Experienced in the use of benchmarking, metrics and continuous improvement methods (six sigma, lean, etc.) to drive improvements in cost, quality and delivery

  • Proven experience building and leading teams of technicians and engineers strong leadership and organizational skills

  • Knowledge and experience working in a regulated environment, preferably medical/FDA

Manufacturing Test Team at Pure What You Will Be Doing * Support production for all current and new product offerings * Own production test automation systems to ensure that hardware is tested to high quality requirements within given time constraints * Drive excellence in the production engineering team by strategizing functional duties and execution areas * Work closely with cross functional teams like Engineering, Build Planning, Quality and Process to plan production releases * Work closely with contract manufacturers to ensure execution toward build plans and drive automation of processes on the floor * Determine and eliminate root causes for failures iteratively to ensure high yields while maintaining correct amount of coverage What You Bring To The Team * 3+ years of management or production lead experience * 5+ years of manufacturing experience in process and test * Familiarity with linux systems,bash and x86 hardware * Familiarity with Jenkins, git, or similar automation framework * Familiarity Python or C++ (object-oriented) and troubleshooting skills * Experience with test-driven software development * Experience writing and implementing test plans * Ability to identify test coverage gaps and improvements * Must be willing and able to work in an open office, team environment.
