Microsoft Teams is the fastest growing app in Microsoft history with more than 115 million people using it every day to connect and collaborate at work, school and life. Teams lets you meet, call, chat, and collaborate all in one place, from any device, keeping you organized and simplifying your day. We're looking for a remarkable storyteller to build the Teams brand, develop its narrative and articulate it through every channel customers see - across global advertising, web and social media - as well as through high impact content such as product demos, videos and customer evidence. You will lead a talented team of product marketers who will help you bring these stories to life.
In addition, you'll be responsible for owning the end-to-end Teams business, deriving insights on funnel performance and partnering with your peers to produce analysis and action plans for what's working and what's not. You will drive a sea change in the Teams web direct business, working closely with the outbound marketing team to attract and convert millions of new Teams users via the Teams website. And you will provide monthly updates on the Teams business for senior executives.
As the owner of the Teams story and business, you will determine Teams' role in high profile PR moments and external events, partnering with PR on disclosure strategy. You will also serve as spokesperson and subject matter expert with press, analysts and customers.
This role requires proven storytelling expertise, strategic thinking, business acumen, a passion for our customers, and outstanding leadership and commitment to diversity and inclusion. Research has shown that diverse teams produce the best outcomes, and in Teams product marketing, we take that learning to heart. We welcome diversity in all of its forms and work every day to create an inclusive culture.
5 or more years of related experience including:
A successful track record of crafting stories that change perceptions, build emotional connections and achieves business results
Strong writing skills with a customer centric focus to "help not sell" and an active dislike of buzzwords
A passion for technology and the ability to translate complex ideas into simple, clear prose
Curiosity, self-awareness, and a desire to test and learn, using data as a success metric
A willingness and capacity to analyze how the business is performing and explain it to others
Outstanding leadership and deep and unwavering commitment to diversity and inclusion
