We are currently seeking Microsoft Exchange Engineer with an active Top-Secret Clearance for a full-time position as part of an ongoing contract in Washington, DC, this position requires 5 days a week on-site with NO REMOTE OR HYBRID OPTIONS. Occasional after-hours or weekend support for maintenance, outage resolution, or other service support requested by the Government.

Please note: Due to the secure nature of this government agency, all candidates must be U.S. citizens and hold a current and active Top-Secret clearance.

The successful candidate will receive a contingent offer based on the outcome of a government background check. This may take several weeks, and the candidate cannot begin actual employment until the background check is successfully completed.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design, build and deploy, and administer large scale multi-domain enterprise Windows Server, Microsoft Exchange, and Azure, M365, and O365 environments

  • Plans and directs upgrades of Windows Server, Microsoft Exchange, and Azure/M365 infrastructure and related components

  • Designs and defines system architecture for new or existing computer systems utilizing both on-premises and cloud-based hosting technologies

  • Design and administer Configuration Management tools and suites and Patch Management solutions for desired state configuration and baseline management and control

  • Analyze requirements and system architectures to develop system requirements specifications and resulting design plans

  • Administer, operate, manage and maintain components for on-premises and cloud-based virtualized systems

  • Reviews completion and implementation of system additions and/or enhancements and makes recommendations to management and/or clients

  • Build, maintain and migrate a variety of physical and virtual systems to on-premises, cloud, or hybrid infrastructures.

  • Provide support to multiple globally dispersed WAN connected sites.

  • Responsible for supporting solutions throughout the entire IT project lifecycle, to include refining requirements, creating design documentation, creating installation instructions and deployment plans, and providing O&M support.

Required Qualifications:

  • Must hold an ACTIVE TOP-SECRET Clearance and be eligible for SCI!

  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, and work experience, along with 5+ years of directly related experience.

  • Deep understanding of Microsoft Exchange 2016 & 2019 structure to include: database structure; mail routing and related protocols

  • Microsoft Windows automation scripting with PowerShell or other scripting languages

  • Experience with managing work tasks via tools such as JIRA and ServiceNow

  • System configuration based on security guidelines such as DISA STIGs

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Exchange and its interaction with Active Directory

  • Familiarity with Exchange Online

  • Understanding of Exchange Hybrid designs and operations

  • Understanding of directory sync into Azure AD

  • Architectural understanding of M365 security constructs and data protections such as DLP, RMS/IRM, Azure Information Protection

  • Experience with the following:

  • Managing Office 365 using PowerShell

  • Microsoft Windows Server Active Directory design and implementation options

  • Group Policy Management;

  • Windows DNS and DHCP;

  • and Windows Server 2016 & 2019

  • Microsoft Windows automation scripting with PowerShell or other scripting languages

  • Experience with managing work tasks via tools such as JIRA and ServiceNow

  • System configuration based on security guidelines such as DISA STIGs

  • Strong understanding of File and Storage Services, to include Distributed File System (DFS) Replication and Namespace management

  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills as demonstrated by a work history reflecting ability to work well in a team

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in the English language.

  • Pleasant, professional, and courteous personality.

  • Excellent administrative skills: organized, efficient, and versatile.

Certification: Must have CompTIA Security+ CE or similar for IAT Level II DoD 8570 certification on day 1
