This position will be located at US Southern Command in the Miami, FL. area. Must have an Active SECRET Clearance.
The Microsoft (MS) Office Business Intelligence Developer is responsible for integrating and automating multiple sources of Accounting, Financial, Personnel, and Logistics (Supply Chain) data for the DoD and other government organizations using the Microsoft Office Suite (Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, SharePoint, InfoPath, etc.)
Will be responsible for Funds Control for United States Southern Command.
Make funding changes in the various financial systems at the direction of the Comptroller, Budget Officer, Senior and Staff Accountants.
Update and maintain automated systems for tracking funding changes and reconcile these systems with spend plans and financial systems.
Will be required to prepare and analyze daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for audit readiness and higher headquarters.
Will be a backup for other Desktop Analytics Tools developers and will need to learn how to pull and integrate financial data, as well as assist users with PivotTable reports and local financial tools.
Additionally, the incumbent may be assigned to develop, update, or document other desktop tools.
Identifies possible data sources to integrate using current and past legacy systems
Converts all data sources to interface/link with Microsoft Access and/or Excel
Integrates all data sources into one or multiple tables in a customized analytical format using MS Access
Links MS Access data sources to MS Excel Pivot Tables for multiple users Creates ad hoc and canned reports
Create advanced charts in excel
Develop VBA code in MS Office to automate data collection and integration processes
Create an automated e-mail notification capability using MS Word
Conduct training classes on MS Access, Excel, PowerPoint automation techniques
Perform specialized analysis and development efforts for analysts and leaders
Required Skills and Experience
Secret Security Clearance
Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, business or other elated scientific or technical discipline.
Twelve years' experience of which 9 years must be specialized in areas such as:
DoD Financial Management
Financial and/or Budget Analysis particularly Army/DoD
Desktop Analytics (Microsoft Office products)
Funds Control experience
Financial Systems Experience: SAP, PBAS, RMT, GCSS-Army, DAI
Possesses basic understanding of the DOD environment and Financial Management and Accounting processes and procedures.
Must possess outstanding interpersonal communication skills. The ability to communicate to analysts and senior leaders (Colonels, Generals, and Executives)
Possesses a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across a large organization, managing diverse tasks, requirements, and commitments.
Be familiar with how to link data between Microsoft Access, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Word, and Outlook
