We are looking for a hybrid Microsoft Data Platform Solutions Architect to join our Big Data & Analytics team. This is a full-time benefited role that can require overnight travel an average of 40-60%.

Position Summary:

This position has primary responsibility as a technical leader in Microsoft Data Platform Solutions including SQL Server solutions, PowerBI, and Azure. This is an architect position for a Solution Services Program while also serving as a technical pre-sales resource to Sirius sales teams in support of our clients. This position assists in the delivery of strategy, POCs, and POVs to our customers in the areas of Microsoft Data Platform Solutions.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate conversational expertise in the areas of Microsoft Data Platform capabilities.

  • Demonstrate to clients and prospects how databases, analytics, and business intelligence work together to speed development and manage data on an integrated and consistent platform, on-premises and in the cloud.

  • Collaborate with clients, including Line of Business and IT, and with Sirius teams to identify high level business requirements and map requirements to solution capabilities.

  • Provide solution architecture design and implementation, as well as lead solution development and delivery of Microsoft solutions, including with SQL Server, PowerBI and Azure.

  • Provide lead support to field sales for Software and Services opportunities in the Microsoft Data Platform area.

  • Work with Sirius development teams to create work effort estimates to support Statement of Work creation, and effectively present/communicate proposals to client.

  • Participate at hire and annually in the Information Security Awareness training as well as other required training identified by the Human Resources department. HIPAA or other regulatory training may be required based on your role or assignment.

Basic Qualifications :

  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field

  • At least seven (7) years IT work experience, to include experience in a Lead Developer, Solution Architect, or similar role

  • Experience with Microsoft Data Platform Solutions including with PowerBI, SQLServer, and Azure

Other Position Requirements:

  • Demonstrated ability to provide thought leadership and collaborate with Line of Business personnel, IT, and other stakeholders to determine needs

  • Demonstrated experience contributing to an overarching solution strategy by identifying how proposed architecture, capabilities, and functionality support the clients business objectives

  • Demonstrated presentation and communication skills

  • Demonstrated ability with developing strategies and driving end user adoption of solutions

  • Demonstrated ability to work closely with clients in a professional manner

  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications :

  • User Experience and certification in Microsoft Data Platform solutions

Essential Functions

The position exists to provide technical consulting solutions to customers and as such requires the ability to travel to and from customer sites and interact with customers on an ongoing and regular basis.

The Position designs, develops and optimizes data warehouses with flexible and scalable data and ETL architecture to support reporting and advanced analytics users in the bank. This Position analyzes business data captured in different application systems and develops plans to incorporate relevant data into the enterprise data architecture. The EDW Architect provides support and technical guidance to report developers on the usage of the logical data model to ensure their work meets organizational quality and integrity standards. The Enterprise Data Warehouse Architect's essential duties and responsibilities include: work with business leaders to determine information needs; analyze business data in source systems and prepare physical data model design and source to target mapping documents; work with ETL Developer to design ETL process flow; design and develop logical data model in Cognos Framework Manager; analyze impact of source systems upgrade on EDW data model; manage production deployment and master data management during data model update/enhancement in accordance of the existing change management procedures; develop and maintain EDW architecture diagram and entity relationship diagrams; monitor daily production status and assist with trouble shooting; monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, perform root cause analysis and system tuning; communicate the EDW architecture to both technical and business stakeholders; conduct training and coaching sessions on the use of CPB logical data model; provide consultative advice on development of complex Cognos reports; diagnose Cognos report performance issues and provide query optimization recommendations; provide leadership in data governance components such as data standards and metadata management; establish quality processes to deliver a stable and reliable solution; lead data governance sub-initiatives as assigned by management; maintain technical and business competency through continuing education and self-improvement; provide backup support for other EDW staff while away on business or out of the office; and any other duties as assigned by management. Additionally, the Enterprise Data Warehouse Architect should have knowledge of and comply with the state and federal laws, rules, and regulations, and the bank's policies and procedures, affecting the employee's job duties and responsibilities, including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act and related requirements, the lending, deposit, and other consumer protection regulations, and industry, ethical or fiduciary practices or standards, as applicable. At a minimum, the qualified candidate will have: a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics Engineering, Technology, Electronics and Communication Engineering, or a related computer or engineering degree AND five (5) years' work experience in: designing and implementing Enterprise Data Warehouse Architecture, Data Modeling, Business Intelligence solutions and data integration tools such as Informatica, SSIS and InfoSphere; physical and logical data model design and implementation; and implementation of datawarehousing solutions.
