Job Description

Seeking a diligent and experienced microbiologist to join our Research and Development team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and validating microbiological assays in compliance with good laboratory practices. Responsibilities include processing specimens, performing test procedures, generating reports, maintaining records, and ensuring all laboratory procedures and policies are followed. The role also involves maintaining anaerobic growth environments, working with aseptic techniques, and handling bacteria and fungal cultures. Additionally, the microbiologist will develop and maintain control organisms, validate microbiology assays for use in a CLIA laboratory, write and edit Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and perform equipment maintenance. The candidate will assist in quality control and improvement activities, training, and orienting other testing personnel, and must be able to effectively communicate with team members.

Job Type

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 6 Month(s).

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Rockville, Maryland.

Work Environment

The position is based in a CLIA testing lab, with the candidate spending approximately 80% of their time in the lab and 20% in the office. The work schedule is Wednesday to Sunday, 40 hours per week, with a 20% pay differential for weekend hours.
