Microbiology Lead

Hiring a Microbiology Lead for a great lab in Rancho Cordova, CA!! Great culture and environment! Looking for someone that comes from Microbiology experience, but also has some supervising/managing experience from a restaurant or coffee shop to know how to lead others.

M-F Day shift

We routinely process the following in our Microbiology lab - BOD/ PA - Coliform/ General Phys/ HPC/ Turbidity/ Chlorine Residue/ 10, 15, 35 Tube and more.

Our work orders number about 100 per week but may contain 1 BOD or 5 BOD on that individual work order. I have processed work orders for 13 PA on one work order. So, adaptability, triage of work demand, and work assignment load per employee can be daunting. It is a high demand/ high fluctuation department, driven by weather (rain equals CRAZY).

Description:

1.Supervisor position is a hands-on working position and performs analyses as needed.

2.Reviews data and reports within the Department prior to release to QA/QC for accuracy.

3.Oversees Proficiency Testing (PT) studies

4.Responds in a timely fashion to "Corrective Action" requests.

5.Responsible for Department safety, cleanliness, and orderliness.

6.Responsible for administering required company policy and procedures.

7.Responsible for subordinate performance, and overtime.

8.Maintains confidentiality of employee and company information.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

o Must have a minimum of one year demonstrated experience in analytical testing in a production lab.

o Must have excellent analytical skills, sophisticated analysis experience, strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills necessary to effectively manager others.

o Must be familiar with all Lab Certification and Accreditation requirements for performance at the department level
